Ever had one of those days where multiple students, if not most of the class, struggled with the content? Maybe you were showing a movie that had important information, but the students weren’t getting it because they were not engaged? Do you have times when students struggle with being engaged in the lesson or content while you struggled with the students? If this is sounding a bit familiar, then boy have I found a little nugget of “This doesn’t suck” plus "dual coding" plus "art" for you!

Sketchnoting is a fun, visual, brain-friendly way to remember important ideas and make sense of them. Brain research has shown that the good ole graphic organizer taps into the dual coding affect to help students learn. In fact, pre-made graphic organizers have proven to have more benefit for learners than when they create their own. Building on those facts, I created the Sketchnotes Graphic Organizer. It's fun! It works! Come see!
